About the Lehigh Valley Pennsylvania Area  The Lehigh Valley, also knows as Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton. The Metropolitan Area is referred to locally as The Valley and ABE, consisting of Lehigh, Northampton, and Carbon counties in eastern Pennsylvania.
The Lehigh Valley’s principal cities are Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton, comprising of Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton metropolitan area. The traditional bounds of the region are The Pocono’s to the north, the Delaware River, Delaware Water Gap, to the east, the boundaries of Berks County and Montgomery County to the southwest, and the boundary with Bucks county to the South.
The Lehigh Valley is located approximately 50 miles north of Philadelphia, 80 east of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania’s capital, 70 miles west of New York City. The Valley is still growing in population due to the popularity as a Bedroom community for the highly-populated neighboring regons of Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York City. Due primarily to the Interstate System, I-78 running east and west and the PA Turnpike running north and south. With 33 highway also going up to the Pocono’s area.
